Oh dear. Today has been a rather sobering day. I went to see my optician about my contact lenses - the left lens was a bit blur but we found it was a manufacturing error. The last time I saw my optician ws in september just before I left..and he was a healthy, prosperous businessman with the slight paunch and all.

Today he was a walking skeleton with grey hair. He was diagnosed with stomach cancer in December, and...he had his stomach removed. How can someone change so drastically for the worse so fast? He's been my optician ever since I started wearing spectacles...oh dear.

How transient life is. Shopping with huimin, xuhua, margaret and kai ting tomorrow..let's cherish what we have.
