The Stocking Chronicles

It hailed today..and I missed it. I suppose the next time the rain sounds a little noiser than usual I must brave the cold and open the window to see what hail looks like - I have no idea.

I am getting tired of doing so many essays..how slowly the days do pass...

However cliched it is, life works in funny ways. Sometimes you find yourself in situations which you were in before, but from the opposite angle. And suddenly you understand everything from the other person's point of view..and you realise how horrible you were. And you wish you could do something to change it, or had done something to change it. But that's not really possible, so I guess all you can do is...move on. After all, it was really your fault.

Well i only have one thing to say, "I totally agree with you, and just bugger the lot."
Amazing isn't it, the wonders a self prep talk can do.

I'm watching this documentary on National Geographic. There is a lizard called a Bicycle Lizard. This is because when it runs, it's legs move in circular motions, literary 360 degrees.

Anyway, I was looking for a picture of the Arctic Fox running across the snow. They look really adorable, all fluffy and white. Yes, I know, until you see them eating. But otherwise they look like of innocent like, gamboling across the snow.

So i went to the National Geographic website, since they were the one to show the documentary on creatures living in the Artic. And though they didn't have a photo of the fox running across the snow, i found this one on King Penguines. They have necks! Quite long ones too, considering that usually they are like a circle, the head, balanced on top of an oval, the body.

They have some photos of the Arctic Hare too. Little round balls of fur. Because of the extreme cold, most of the animals there have really thick coats. Makes them look extremely huggable.

Oh, i found the picture. Gambol, gambol. They are quite light, about about 3-8kg. Small too, about 60cm at most. Ok, after consulting the ruler, maybe not that small but still a reasonable size.
How many feet or foot touches the ground at any time when they walk or run?

2 things I need to tell myself:

  1. I don't have to know the answer to every darn general question someone throws at me without a thought JUST because I'm a geography student. This is one subject you just can't win. Everyone thinks they know what you are studying. There's no wow factor like science or music.
  2. Just because I have less hours in school doesn't mean I'm less stressed out or that my degree is worth less than anyone else's.

And most of all:

DON"T ALWAYS TAKE OTHER PEOPLE'S COMMENTS STRAIGHT TO THE HEART. YOU ARE TOO SENSITIVE.

There. Just needed a self pep talk.
